Corradi denies problems with Parma coach Beretta
tribalfootball.com - November 4, 2005

On-loan Valencia striker Bernardo Corradi insists there are no problems between the players and Parma coach Mario Beretta.
Beretta's job is on the line, with prospective Parma president Lorenzo Sanz Jr admitting the coach's position is up for "review".

"Nobody has criticised the coach, he has a clear relationship with me and some of my words in the press have been exaggerated," said Corradi.

"This inner controversy can only make a bad situation worse unless we clear things up now. The season has already been difficult enough."

Chievo agree to send Obinna back to Inter Milan
tribalfootball.com - November 4, 2005

Chievo Verona have agreed to release striker Victor Obinna back to Inter Milan in January.
The Nigerian whizkid has been in stunning form this season and Inter want to bring him back to the San Siro as a replacement for Obefami Martins.

The plan is for Obinna to cover for Martins' absence as he joins Nigeria for the Africa Nations Cup. However, it's understood Obinna is also being seriously considered for the tournament - so putting Inter's plans into a spin.

Di Vaio wants Italy over Liverpool, Spurs
tribalfootball.com - November 4, 2005

Valencia striker Marco Di Vaio is ready to snub offers from Tottenham and Liverpool to return to Italy.
Di Vaio is being made available by Valencia for the winter market after being told by coach Quique Flores that he isn't part of his first team plans.

The Italian's agent has been contacted by Liverpool and Spurs, but Di Vaio wants a return to Serie A where Inter Milan and Parma have expressed interest.

Juventus coach Capello: I'll sort out Ibrahimovic
tribalfootball.com - November 4, 2005

Juventus coach Fabio Capello says he'll sort out Zlatan Ibrahimovic after the Swede's red card against Bayern Munich on Wednesday night.
"Ibrahimovic could've avoided that, but he did well tonight. He is a very important player and we will set him on the right road. In a relaxed atmosphere we will sort him out," he said.

Capello also defended his decision to hook Mauro Camoranesi on 18 minutes in the win.

"Camoranesi picked up a knock and, seeing as he wasn't on form and I needed the pace of Adrian Mutu, I chose to make this decision."

Cagliari to lose Carini back to Inter Milan
tribalfootball.com - November 4, 2005

Cagliari are ready to release goalkeeper Fabian Carini back to Inter Milan in January.
The Uruguay international will return to Inter when the winter market opens, forcing Cagliari to search for a replacement.

Panama international Jaime Penedo is expected to move to Cagliari to succeed Carini.

Udinese president hands Cosmi vote of confidence
tribalfootball.com - November 4, 2005

Udinese president Giampaolo Pozzo has handed coach Serse Cosmi a vote of confidence.

"We can finish fourth again," he said. "Our poor form at the moment really doesn't worry me.

"I'm sure that as well as doing everything to progress in the Champions League we will have a good League campaign.

"I've heard talk of Cosmi's job being under threat. It is talk without any merit. Whoever puts this around must do so with malicious intent."

Juventus-Livorno

Juventus entertain Livorno this weekend with a view to getting their season back on track. The Bianconeri lost their last outing to Milan at the San Siro and, although they still hold a two-point lead at the top of the table, it is imperative that they bounce back against their Tuscan opponents. Roberto Donadoni’s side have been in good form so far this term and are currently performing well above expectation in fifth place.

Juve head into the game with no new injury worries, with long-term absentees Alessandro Birindelli, Gigi Buffon and Jonathon Zebina unlikely to return anytime soon. Coach Fabio Capello may look to recall Alessandro Del Piero after a poor showing by Zlatan Ibrahimovic against Milan, but other than that is likely to be an unchanged side from last weekend.

Livorno’s only injury worry is also a headache for Juventus, as the player in question is Raffaele Palladino – currently on loan at the Amaranto from the Turin club. Nikola Lazetic is likely to step in for the youngster. Last term at the Stadio Delle Alpi, Juventus were 4-2 victors in an entertaining match, but either side would sacrifice entertainment just to take home the three points on this occasion.

Juventus (probable): Chimenti; Pessotto, Thuram, Cannavaro, Zambrotta; Camoranesi, Emerson, Vieira, Nedved; Trezeguet, Ibrahimovic

Livorno (probable): Amelia; Grandoni, Vargas, Galante; Cesar Prates, Morrone, Passoni, De Ascentis, Coco; Lazetic; Lucarelli

Donadoni Hopes For A Positive Result Against Juve

Livorno travel to Turin on Sunday to face the current league leaders.
Coach Roberto Donadoni knows the strengths and qualities that Juventus have, but has no intention of going to the Delle Alpi to give the three points to the Bianconeri on a silver plate.

“The Juventus side which will play against us on Sunday will probably be different from the one that defeated Bayern. They are very strong and we shall have to tire them to take advantage of the fatigue and go back home with a positive result.

“We shall have to play a match of depth and great temperament to try and put them in difficulty. But the rest does not matter and I sincerely believe that some people are over rating us, and that our league is in the lower regions. The gained points will help us in future for the relegation battle."

Milan have Juve in their sights

Milan can go top of Serie A for the first time this season if they win and leaders Juventus lose on Sunday. Milan host an erratic Udinese at the San Siro after putting a serious dent in Juventus's armour-plated image with a 3-1 win over the Turin team last weekend.

That was their seventh consecutive Serie A victory, narrowing the gap between the clubs to two points with Juve facing a tricky home fixture against fifth-placed Livorno.

Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti has a strong squad at his disposal, particularly at the back, where several key players are ready to return to the starting line-up.

Cafu is ready to return on the right, Alessandro Nesta has recovered from hand surgery to bolster central defence, while Marek Jankulovski, bought from Udinese during the close season, could fill the left back position.

Ancelotti's only serious worry is a heel injury picked up by Andriy Shevchenko during the midweek Champions League defeat by PSV Eindhoven.

Should the Ukrainian fail to recover, Filippo Inzaghi is expected to take his place in attack alongside Alberto Gilardino.

Udinese will have to improve on their shaky early-season form if they are to cause an upset.

Two points in their last three matches have left last season's fourth-placed finishers in the bottom half and they will be without influential midfielder Luis Vidigal, who suffered a hamstring injury during last weekend's 0-0 draw with Palermo.

In the other matches, third-placed Fiorentina continue their bid for a Champions League place with a trip to Ascoli, while Inter coach Roberto Mancini returns to his old stomping ground when his team take on Lazio in Rome.

Inter are fourth, eight points off the lead, and desperately need a win to keep pace with Juventus and Milan.

That will not be easy, however, as a well-organised Lazio are unbeaten at the Olympic Stadium this season.

Juventus star Ibrahimovic set to ink £7M Nike deal
tribalfootball.com - November 5, 2005

Juventus striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic is set to ink a mega endorsement contract with Nike.

Juventus chief Moggi discusses red card with Ibrahimovic
tribalfootball.com - November 5, 2005

Juventus director general Luciano Moggi held talks with Zlatan Ibrahimovic on Thursday after his sending off this week against Bayern Munich.
Along with Moggi, Ibra's agent Mino Raiola also sat in on the meeting in which the Swede was informed of the rules at Juve.

"Here, he is playing for Juventus, no longer in Holland," said Moggi. "To leave the team with ten men is not ever good, even if the game fortunately ended in our favour."

Moggi added: "I didn't speak about the player's contract with Mino this time. But I have promised that we will soon. But neither us, nor Zlatan, are in a rush."

Siena Lose Tudor For A Month
11/4/2005 10:07:00 AM
The Croatian player injured his thigh.
Big problem for coach Luigi De Canio, who will have to do without his strong and important defender, Igor Tudor, for about a month.

Tests have in fact shown that the player suffered an injury to his right thigh and will not be available for the next 3-4 weeks. On the other hand, De Canio has recovered Jonathan Bachini in time for Sunday’s match against Chievo.

Juve move for Maxwell? Saturday 5 November, 2005

Brazilian starlet Cabelino Maxwell has refused a new contract at Ajax and the Italian Press believes a deal with Juventus could be struck in January.

The full-back’s current contract with the Dutch giants expires in June, so he will be a free agent in the summer and can negotiate with other clubs from the New Year.

It’s believed he already has a move to Juve lined up on a four-year deal worth £1.7m per season and he can thrash out the details for the 2005-06 agreement in January.

Maxwell has long been linked with a change of scenery and was linked to the likes of Milan, Manchester United, Inter and Real Madrid.

The Brazilian is reportedly eager to test himself out in Serie A and is a versatile player who can also play on the left side of midfield.

Coach Fabio Capello is said to be happy with the prospect of signing another of Ajax’s talented youngsters after snapping up Zlatan Ibrahimovic last summer.

Meanwhile, Empoli are also lining up a Brazilian newcomer after picking up Criciuma hitman Eder. The young forward had been in negotiations with Fiorentina and it’s believed the Viola have an option to take the player once he has settled in to Serie A.

Eder is said to have cost Empoli £350,000 and he will touch down in Tuscany during the January transfer window.

Kuffour bust-up with Roma pal Montella
tribalfootball.com - November 5, 2005

AS Roma teammates Sammy Kuffour and Vincenzo Montella had a training ground bust-up on Thursday.

Montella took exception at a tough challenge from Kuffour in a training game and turned on the defender in retaliation.

It's not the first time the Ghana international has incurred the wrath of teammates, after a similar incident with Antonio Cassano earlier this season.

Some Roma teammates turned on Kuffour after his tackle on Montella, urging him not to be so rough. The big African reportedly did not take the protests well and stormed off the pitch furious.

Asked about the incident yesterday, Roma players chief Bruno Conti insisted: "It was insignificant. There's nothing to discuss."

Palermo president keen on Inter Milan's Toldo
tribalfootball.com - November 7, 2005

Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini admits he is interested in Inter Milan goalkeeper Francesco Toldo.

Toldo was again left out of Inter's first team for Saturday's 0-0 draw at Lazio and is understood to be ready to ask away when the winter market opens.

"Could we sign Toldo when the market reopens? Yes, perhaps we could ...," said Zamparini.

Roma coach confirms Cassano won't be considered
tribalfootball.com - November 7, 2005

AS Roma coach Luciano Spalletti has confirmed striker Antonio Cassano won't be considered for the first team until he signs a new contract.

"The club has a project for the future and I will only use players who share that vision," Spalletti said.

Cassano has now recovered from an ankle injury, but was not been included in the squad for yesterday's match against Messina and official confirmation arrived that it was a disciplinary decision.

"Antonio seemed physically fit in training and is fully recovered now, but this has nothing to do with why he wasn't picked. Will he be left out until he signs a new contract? That is possible."

tribalfootball.com - November 7, 2005

Lazio president Claudio Lotito has angrily denied weekend press reports that he is trying to sell the club.

Capello: United? I’m Contracted To Juve
11/6/2005 12:59:00 PM
Juventus coach Fabio Capello has played down reports linking him with the Manchester United job.
The Italian tactician had apparently been lined up as the next manager at Old Trafford when Sir Alex Ferguson finally leaves his position.

But Capello told Sky Italia: "I’m flattered to be among those who might be interviewed if Sir Alex Ferguson leaves Manchester United, although I don’t think he will do it.

"Anyway, I have a contract with Juve, but being mentioned for this possibility flatters me."

United are currently in the midst of a mini-crisis and host Chelsea at Old Trafford today.

Juventus chief Moggi admits Berlusconi meeting
tribalfootball.com - November 8, 2005

Juventus director general Luciano Moggi has again denied reports he's in talks with AC Milan about a move to the Serie A rivals.
Moggi's contract at Juve expires in 2006, but he said: "Yes, it's true I have had another private meeting with (Milan president) Silvio Berlusconi.

"But the only subject we discussed was extending the loan of Christian Abbiati (at Juve)."
-----------------
Mihajlovic, Cesar: Inter Milan not good enough
tribalfootball.com - November 8, 2005

Inter Milan stars Sinisa Mihajlovic and Julio Cesar were critical of their performance in Saturday's 0-0 draw with Lazio.
"We have to improve all over the pitch and become more aggressive. We create chances, but can't seem to finish games off. You play football to score goals and if you don't, then you'll find it tough to win."

Brazilian Julio Cesar was also critical of the Nerazzurri's performance. "We played badly," said the goalkeeper. "We barely had a shot on goal and if Juventus win today then it'll really be very difficult to dream of the Scudetto, as we'll be 10 points behind the leaders."

Inter Milan president hits back at Chelsea's Mourinho
tribalfootball.com - November 8, 2005

Inter Milan president Giacinto Facchetti has hit back at Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho.

Mourinho criticised Inter patron Massimo Moratti's spending policy last weekend, but Facchetti said: "We are not the only Italian club that has spent a lot in the last years.

"In Italy there is also more competition in the market, while in England Chelsea is alone.

"In any case, everyone appreciates the efforts of Moratti. Our patron has always had passion for Inter and his only wish is to build a team as strong and as spectacular as possible."

AC Milan coach Ancelotti denies Inzaghi bust-up
tribalfootball.com - November 8, 2005

AC Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti has denied a bust-up with striker Pippo Inzaghi.

Inzaghi appeared unhappy with his substitution during Sunday's defeat of Udinese, but Ancelotti said: "There's nothing to get excited about, I wanted to put on a midfielder (Rui Costa) at the time."

Kaka shrugged off Ancelotti's decision to substitute him after he over-indulged and missed a gilt-edged chance in the second-half.

"On the pitch you sometimes try to enjoy yourself - it was a great chance. I must try these things, even if I make a mistake and anger my coach.

"I hope that he understands that."

Roma's Totti confirms birth of son
tribalfootball.com - November 8, 2005

AS Roma captain Francesco Totti has confirmed wife Ilary Blasi gave birth to a little boy on Sunday night.
The baby was born several days late in a natural birth at Rome's Quisisana clinic and weighs 3.2kg. The little Totti's name has not yet been announced.

Totti arrived at his wife's bedside just before the birth, as he was in Sicily this afternoon where he scored the second goal in a 2-0 victory against Messina.

He had already staged a special celebration in their honour during the Rome derby, where he put the ball under his shirt and 'gave birth' to the goal.

Treviso president axes Rossi
tribalfootball.com - November 8, 2005

Treviso president Ettore Setten sacked coach Ezio Rossi immediately after Sunday's 0-0 draw with Cagliari.

Treviso have won just one of their 11 Serie A matches this season, drawing three and losing seven while scoring only five goals in the process.

Treviso have struggled to adapt to the top flight since being promoted in the summer following the match-fixing scandal which led to the relegation of Genoa, and a financial crisis which prevented Torino from taking their place in Serie A.

After a dismal start they finally won their first match a fortnight ago when they beat Reggina 2-1 away from home.

The club have struggled to escape the relegation zone though and last weekend's 1-0 home defeat to Siena left Treviso in the bottom three, just a point above Lecce and Cagliari.

The loss to Siena led to more doubts being raised about Rossi's continued presence in the position, to which the Treviso coach replied: "Don't ask me this question anymore.

"For a year and a half I have been asked the same question and I'm not the one who has the answer. Go and ask someone else."

Cagliari axe boss No 3 Monday 7 November, 2005
Channel4

Cagliari are looking for their fourth Coach of the season after Davide Ballardini was sacked on Monday.

The tactician was shown the door after the drab 0-0 draw against Treviso – which also resulted in Ezio Rossi being axed.

Ballardini was the Sardinian club’s third boss of the campaign after the dismissal of Attilio Tesser and the resignation of Daniele Arrigoni.

Cagliari, who are in deep relegation trouble, could now turn to veteran tactician Carlo Mazzone.

The 69-year-old has already sat on the Rossoblu bench in the past between 1991 and 1993, as well as spending the 1996-97 campaign at the Stadio Sant’Elia.

Only Inter Milan prepared to bid for Roma's Cassano
tribalfootball.com - November 9, 2005

Inter Milan remain the only club willing to table an offer for AS Roma striker Antonio Cassano in January.

Cassano was again left out of the first team for last weekend's clash with Messina, with coach Luciano Spalletti following executive director Rosella Sensi's orders that the striker not be considered while he refuses to re-sign with the club.

Cassano would prefer a move to either Juventus or AC Milan, but neither club is willing to make an offer in January and prefer to wait until he comes off contract in the summer.

Inter patron Massimo Moratti has drawn up a bid of £4 million for Roma to consider when the winter market opens.

Udinese coach Cosmi calm about future
tribalfootball.com - November 9, 2005

Udinese coach Serse Cosmi insists he doesn't believe his job is under threat.

It's been suggested the Udinese board are considering Cosmi's position after his team shipped nine goals in the last two games.

But Cosmi said: "There are moments when things go well and other times when they don't. But we must remember that this is the same team which has done well and won a lot of games at the start of the season.

"Because of this, I do not feel that my job is in danger."

AC Milan coach Ancelotti: Inter can't win Scudetto
tribalfootball.com - November 9, 2005

AC Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti says city rivals Inter can forget about the Scudetto this season.

"It will be very hard for them to get back into the running," he said. "Now, it's Fiorentina we need to think about.

"If we lose in Florence when the championship restarts after the international break, the Viola will be the second-strongest side in the League."

Palermo president slaughters Del Neri: Defence in crisis
tribalfootball.com - November 9, 2005

Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini has blasted coach Gigi del Neri after the weekend's defeat by Sampdoria.

"Enough is enough," said Zamparini. "We cannot keep letting in two goals a game. Our trainer must consider again his game plan.

"By now the other coaches know how to work us out. (Samp coach Walter) Novellino has beaten Del Neri 2-0, that is clear.

"He must remove from his mind the idea of the old Chievo, he has the defence of the National team and continues to let in too many goals.

"We have an optimal attack and an optimal midfield, we're experiencing a most serious defensive crisis and the trainer must fix it.

"If we continue to let in two goals a game, like with Empoli and Chievo, the problems will be obvious."

Fiorentina chasing Arsenal's Pires
tribalfootball.com - November 9, 2005

Fiorentina are chasing Arsenal midfielder Robert Pires.

The 32 year-old is inside the final year of his current deal and still to open serious talks over a new contract with Gunners officials.

Fiorentina director general Pantaleo Corvino and president Andrea Della Valle have both made contact with Pires' representatives and are ready to bring the Frenchman to Italy in January.

Treviso: Rossi still coach
tribalfootball.com - November 9, 2005

Treviso president Ettore Setten has NOT sacked coach Ezio Rossi.

After Treviso's 0-0 draw with Cagliari, which resulted in the Sardinian side firing their third coach of the season in Davide Ballardini, Setten announced that Rossi had also been axed.

In the cold light of day, however, it seems that Rossi may have earned a reprieve as the Venetian club weigh up their options.

"We are conducting a complete evaluation of the situation," announced club secretary Giovanni Gardini on Monday evening after confirming that Rossi will remain in charge of first team affairs.

"Given that we have a weekend off next week we still have a bit more time to carefully assess our options," he added.

Inter Milan contract offer for Ze Roberto
tribalfootball.com - November 10, 2005

Inter Milan are moving for Bayern Munich wing-back Ze Roberto.

The Brazilian is inside the final year of his contract at Bayern and has been identified by Inter chiefs as a possible solution to coach Roberto Mancini's problems on the left-side of midfield.

Santiago Solari, Kily Gonzalez and Pierre Wome have all failed to convince this season, forcing Inter to go back into the market for a left-sided midfielder.

A two-year contract, with the option of a third and worth £1 million-a-season, is being drawn up for Ze Roberto to consider.

Bayern have tabled the Brazilian a new deal, but are demanding Ze Roberto take a 30 per cent pay-cut on his current wages.

Juventus, AC Milan chasing Ajax ace Sneijder
tribalfootball.com - November 10, 2005

Juventus and AC Milan are chasing Ajax midfielder Wesley Sneijder.

Juve director general Luciano Moggi and Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani have instructed their agents to start talks with Sneijder's representatives about a summer move to Italy.

The race has just kicked off, but both clubs have already been made aware that no less than £8 million will be considered by Ajax for the Holland international.

Fiorentina president: £70M between us and Juventus, AC Milan
tribalfootball.com - November 10, 2005

Fiorentina president Andrea Della Valle admits the regular millions generated by Juventus and AC Milan from television is what separates Italy's top two from the rest of the Serie A.

"There is a gap between ourselves and Milan and Juventus," said Della Valle. "I believe it is around £70 million due to television money.

"But I believe give us three years and we can catch up to them."

Inter Milan still in title chase - Mancini
tribalfootball.com - November 10, 2005

Inter Milan coach Roberto Mancini insists they can still challenge for the title this season.

Milan boss Carlo Ancelotti declared on Monday that Inter were out of the title race and had made way for Fiorentina as more realistic championship challengers.

"We may be some way off the leaders at the moment," said Mancio. "But it is not over yet."

Inter have slipped to 10 points behind Juventus and eight behind Milan, but Mancini has every reason to believe they can drag themselves back into contention.

"Even if the 10-point margin is big, the other top sides have got to play each other yet, something we have already done. So I don't think we can be saying it's finished just yet.

"If we do well up until the December break we can open it up again," he added.

Inter Milan's Kily ready for Argentina return
tribalfootball.com - November 10, 2005

Inter Milan winger Kily Gonzalez is set to leave the club in the summer.

The Argentina international has failed to convince coach Roberto Mancini that he deserves a regular start and is now eyeing a move back home.

Kily is believed to have instructed agents to begin sounding out interested Argentine clubs as he prepares to make this his last season in Europe.

Juventus confident beating Man Utd, Valencia for Sagnol
tribalfootball.com - November 10, 2005

Juventus are confident they can land Bayern Munich fullback Willy Sagnol.

The French international is off contract in the summer and ready to leave the Bundesliga. Manchester United and Valencia, along with Juve, are preparing pre-contract offers for Sagnol to consider in January.

However, Juve are understood to have received a verbal commitment from Sagnol after he was approached by intermediaries last week.

Juve chief Luciano Moggi sees Sagnol as a replacement for veteran Lilian Thuram.
