Hi all,
Does anyone want to practice English with me? We can talk on every topics: friendship, how to learn, opinions in events happened all over the worlds. Of course we should express them in English by our own writing not by copy and paste.

Any ideas?

Hi,

First of all, I would like to discuss about how to improve our vocabulary or new words. It's my weakness and I want to change it.

Everybody should exchange information: how you learn new words? how you practice using them? ect.

Thanks for review,

I think it'll better to you if you write "improve" instead "change". Sorry if it made you mine.
And now, let me tell you my opinion. This topic's really good for us to practice in writting. Its not only to improve the vocabulary but also the grammar. So, I think every body should let a little time every days to write what ever you think. Moreover, you can ask some body how to write a letter(application letter for example)and then we can help you the way to do it. Let start by introduce yourself in English.

Now it's my turn to correct your writing

We're all studying English. So some mistakes aren't too much important. It will be improved during we're discussing   .

In my way, I'm doing the practical way. During the time reading books, newspapers, playing games or do whatever in English, if some words make me cannot understand the whole story or idea, I will use dictionary to check those. Those words will be repeated in books, newspapers or games so I can remember them longer. If unknown words don’t bother me, I won’t check them.

The other way is that you should think of a topic which interested you (like football) and try to find out as many words relate to that topic as possible. Then you translate them and make a list. When you have free time, look at it for fun   and think about another topic. My younger sister is using this way and seems good.

Anyway, improve vocabulary is always the same: you read new words and learn them by heart. The importance is how you make it interesting

Wow, Mr Buffon seems very good at English. I admire u very much and I don't think ur vocabulary is ur weakness, maybe u r the hero who is very modest about ur great deals, do u agree?
Em biết rằng rồi anh sẽ quên em
Cái gì thoáng qua mấy ai còn đọng lại
Cho dù với em đó sẽ là mãi mãi
Anh bận lòng chi với một kẻ qua đường...

Do you think  writing our diary here is a good idea???

......January, 7th...

It's now about 11.00 PM and so dark outside. I was going to bed but I couldn't sleep. I have a very strong feeling about the film that I've watched on HBO chanel "exocist-the beginning". It makes me scared to death   and now though all lamps were turned on, I still don't know what I have to do next.   huhhuhhuhuh.....At last, I think I should go downstair and sleep by my parents.....

Hi all,

I've deleted some posts being unrelated to this curent topic. Hope no one will write sth like those again!

Now, let's come back to the topic. We're talking about the ways to improve our vocabulary.

There’re many methods to improve our vacabulary. I agree with JTF on learning new words by reading sth such as newspapers, magazines, books, … When seeing a new word, I prefer trying to guess its meaning before looking it up in the dictionary. Sometime, words in specific sentences are understandable, though we don’t know exactly what they mean.

For people who don’t like reading, maybe watching television is a solution. Watching program in English, especially films with subtitles is very helpful. By watching, you not only know the pronunciation but also would be able to understand new words. I suggest that you take note of these words first, and then have a look at a dictionary for the true meaning. etc.  Once you had a PC or TV cab, it is simple to carry on, isn’t it ?

One problem is that do we have to learn new word regularly ? How many words should we learn everyday ? I think it depends on each of us. I used to watching to news everynight, but I didn’t try to learn by heart new words. Perhaps, the frequency of the appearances is an important factor. Although learning by heart would increase your quantity of words, it means nothing than the input. If you don't use words you know, (I means to output   ), can they be remembered for a long time ? etc.

How about your opinion ? Any recommendation ?

ehh, that writting in English is a good way to practice our English undoubtedly. But I don't think writting diary here is a good idea, 'cuz how can we improve our own English by writing a short and simple paragraph with words already known. Okie ?

yeah, in some respects, I agree with you. But I think writing diary is the simpliest way that everyone can follow day by day without much endeavour. Moreover, I hope my stories will be longer, more propound and interesting time after time íntead of being "short and simple paragraph with words already known" ones.

My English level is lower and lower due to my job and my sparetime for it. I make many mistakes and so thanks for your help in conrecting them.

I just see two mistakes here:

- Sometimes, words in specific sentences are understandable, though we don’t know exactly what they mean.

- I used to watching (to) news everynight, but I didn’t try to learn by heart new words.

Sorry if they are correct.

Well, English is very difficult, at least, in my opinion! However, I am now a little bit bored of English 'coz I have to say it, write it, read it every day, which makes me feel tired. And vocabulary is really a problem for me, maybe because my memory is terrible, I cannot remember any word, for instance, "administration"  , even though I have looked it up for several times.
Writing is another problem and I do not kow how to make it better. All I do is to translate everything from VNese into English but not writing in English. I guess it is also the problem of almost all VNese , right?
My listenning skill is even worse. To be honest, I do not like HBO channel cause I can hardly understand what they say, oh my buddha, what should I do? help help plz or I will be fed up with English!

Hey , I'm here once again to express what I'm thinking now  .
Well , my brother was not at home when I came back yesterday , where was he ? It was such a difficult question to answer . My mom always remind me of advising and advising him but....maybe I've failed
What I've done ? Nothing ! I should be more caring....
Ok , let it be ! To think of it now would make it even  worse
I haven't met danie since Wed , hic hic , can't believe it ! What's wrong with us ? Hmm , maybe something I've never known . Well , what should be more ?
The Sun flower is getting worse , hic , what should I do ? Nothing's better than let it go....
 Bibi !
