tribalfootball.com - November 18, 2005

AC Milan, Juventus join race for Ze Roberto
tribalfootball.com - November 18, 2005

Italy's big guns AC Milan and Juventus are joining the race for Bayern Munich wing-back Ze Roberto.
The Brazilian is off contract in the summer and has been told by Bayern chiefs he will have to take a pay-cut if he wants to stay.

Ze Roberto is ready to leave Germany and after receiving enquiries from Inter Milan last month, is now courting interest from both AC Milan and Juventus after this week's international recess.

AC Milan's Rui Costa still loves Fiorentina
tribalfootball.com - November 18, 2005

AC Milan midfield ace Rui Costa admits he's a huge fan of former club Fiorentina.

"Last season I finally got to play against Fiorentina and it was such a strong emotional moment for me," the Portuguese star told RadioBlu. "This year will be different, as both teams are fighting for the top of the table. I'll be moved, but will do everything to help my side.

"The Viola have a solid infrastructure behind them and that's how they managed to achieve so much in a year. The secret to their success is this wonderful city, as Florence supported them through every crisis.

"I am personally a fan of the beautiful game and therefore of players like Fiore, Toni and Riccardo Montolivo. Coming back to what I regard as my second home will be an emotional moment, as there is a mutual love affair between myself and the city of Florence. It's a love that will never pass, but on Sunday I must concentrate to give something to the club I play for."

Newcastle's Emre: Inter Milan WILL sack Mancini
tribalfootball.com - November 18, 2005

Newcastle United midfielder Emre says his former coach at Inter Milan, Roberto Mancini, could be sacked in the coming months.
"If he continues along this path, Mancini will be the next to go in the next two to three months," warned the Turkish international.

He also told Sky Italia: "Patron Massimo Moratti is a wonderful person, but he has the wrong advisors alongside him. I think Mancini is a little too young to have taken on this job and should've been in charge of another two or three clubs before coming to Inter."

AC Milan, Juventus pounce as Maxwell rejects Ajax offer
tribalfootball.com - November 18, 2005

AC Milan and Juventus are stepping up their pursuit of Ajax wing-back Maxwell.
The Brazilian is off contract at the end of this season and allowed a deadline to pass last Friday over a new contract offer from Ajax.

Maxwell decided against accepting terms over a three-year contract worth £1.4 million-a-season from Ajax chiefs.

Milan and Juve are now ready to pounce, with both clubs preparing pre-contract offers for January.

tribalfootball.com - November 18, 2005

Milan insiders are convinced they can prise the Cameroon international away from London for less than £2 million.

Lauren is being considered as a replacement for Cafu by Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani.

Roma tough challenges for Juventus

Juventus and AC Milan will be tested on the road this weekend.

Serie A leader Juventus visits surging AS Roma on Saturday, while second-place AC Milan travels to third-place Fiorentina. Juve leads Milan by just two points.

"Both us and Milan have difficult matches, but I prefer to concentrate on our game," Juventus defender Lilian Thuram said. "We have to play our best in Rome."

Thuram, who is returning from French national team play, is fully fit for the first time this season.

Roma midfielder Simone Perrotta was a regular starter on Italy's national team under former coach Giovanni Trapattoni but has been left off the squad since Marcello Lippi took over.

"I need a big season with Roma to go to Germany," Perrotta said of the World Cup finals.

Perrotta played five games for Juventus in 1998-99 and was then transferred to Bari before spending three successful seasons at Chievo Verona. He joined Roma before last season.

"I learned that you can't invent things come Sunday, you only win when you've worked hard all week," Perrotta said of his brief spell with Juventus.

Roma had a shaky start to the season and fell to 2-2-3 after a loss at 10-man Empoli. Since then the club has gone 3-1-0, including a 3-2 win at Inter Milan, and is now tied for sixth place.

"The shock loss to Empoli made us learn a lot," Perrotta said.

Roma captain Francesco Totti should be well rested after sitting out two Italy friendlies with a right thigh muscle strain. Fellow striker Antonio Cassano is likely to be left off the roster again amid a contract dispute with the club.

While top strikers Zlatan Ibrahimovic, David Trezeguet and Alessandro Del Piero are in form, Juventus has problems with its reserve forwards.

Adrian Mutu returned from Romania with a leg muscle problem and Marcelo Zalayeta will likely sit out after a long trip back from Australia, having had his shot blocked in Uruguay's shootout loss in a World Cup qualifying playoff.

Midfielder Pavel Nedved helped the Czech Republic reach the World Cup finals Wednesday and is eager to play again.

"Roma is always a special opponent for me. After five years with Lazio, I always consider it a derby," he said.

Milan has Christian Vieri back from injury, although he could still end up watching the game from the stands with Andriy Shevchenko, Alberto Gilardino and Filippo Inzaghi all healthy in attack as well.

Milan's main concern will be stopping Fiorentina striker Luca Toni, who has a league-best 13 goals in 11 games.

Milan playmaker Rui Costa, a member of Fiorentina's winning teams in the 1990s, said Toni reminds him of his old strike partner in Florence, Gabriel Batistuta.

"They play similarly in the scoring zone," Rui Costa said, adding that he is also pleased Stefano Fiore is directing the Florentine attack the way he used to. "A great player is wearing Fiorentina's No. 10 again."

On Sunday, Inter Milan hosts Parma in a matchup of two struggling teams. Inter striker Adriano will seek to rediscover his scoring touch against his old club.

The weekend opens with Udinese vs. Messina on Saturday.

Sunday's other games are: Chievo Verona vs. Ascoli; Lecce vs. Siena; Livorno vs. Empoli; Reggina vs. Cagliari; Sampdoria vs. Lazio; and Treviso vs. Palermo.

Benfica rival Palermo for Toldo
tribalfootball.com - November 19, 2005

Benfica are ready to battle Palermo for Inter Milan goalkeeper Francesco Toldo.
The Italy international appears on his way from Inter after criticising coach Roberto Mancini's preference for "foreign goalkeeper" Julio Cesar.

Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini has confirmed his interest in Toldo, but Benfica are also ready to move for the shot-stopper when the winter transfer window opens.

Palermo president confirms multi-swap talks with Juventus
tribalfootball.com - November 19, 2005

Juventus and Palermo are locked in talks over a multi-swap deal.

Palermo pair Andrea Barzagli and Simone Barone are set to move to Turin, with Juve duo Manuele Blasi and Antonio Mirante going in the opposite direction.

"With Juventus we have spoken about Mirante, the goalkeeper on-loan at Siena," revealed Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini.

"He is an element for the future, he interests us a lot.

"On the other part, we know also that Juventus are very, very interested in Barzagli and Barone. Something in June could happen regarding this operation."

Lippi hopes Italy face Brazil in World Cup final
tribalfootball.com - November 19, 2005

Italy coach Marcello Lippi says he'd love to face Brazil in next year's World Cup final.

"It's always nice to dream," he said. "The whole world is anti-Brazil because the South Americans are unanimously considered to be the tournament favourites.

"I am happy because there is an abundance of attacking players that are available for me to choose from," he revealed. "The Italian League boasts strengths in so many areas."

As for the sides that the Italian tactician rates the most, it is no surprise to hear which one is mentioned first.

"After Brazil, Argentina are a close second," he warned. "Then there are four or five European outfits who will all be equally as dangerous as each other in the final shake-up."

Galliani rules out Ballack for AC Milan
tribalfootball.com - November 19, 2005

AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani has ruled out a move for Bayern Munich midfielder Michael Ballack.
"Ballack is a great player, but he doesn't interest Milan," Galliani told the club's website.

"That is because we already have players like Kaka and Manuel Rui Costa in his role, men who we have total faith in."

Inter Milan's Pizarro: Players want to win for Moratti
tribalfootball.com - November 19, 2005

David Pizarro says the Inter Milan players have been boosted by patron Massimo Moratti's speech in midweek.
"Moratti has the respect of this team," said the Chile international midfielder. "He's told us he won't let go of Inter until he has achieved the important goals he's set out to.
"His words have been welcomed by the players and we want to help him achieve success."

Pizarro added: "Personally, I'm very happy to have played consecutive games. That helps me a lot. I am happy with the minutes coach (Roberto) Mancini has given me and hope it continues."

Capello delighted with players, ref... everyone!
tribalfootball.com - November 20, 2005

Juventus have thrashed AS Roma 4-1 in last night's grudge match in the capital.
Pavel Nedved gave the visitors the lead on the stroke of half-time before five minutes of madness early in the second half saw the Bianconeri strike three times to put the game beyond Roma's reach.

After the restart, a superb strike from Zlatan Ibrahimovic followed by two goals from David Trezeguet silenced the Olimpico.

Juve had Lilian Thuram sent off in the 64th minute for a non-existent foul on Roma striker Vincenzo Montella, and Francesco Totti converted the resulting penalty to reduce the deficit.

The victory means Juve are five points clear of AC Milan, who play against Fiorentina on Sunday.

"The whole team put in a great performance, although Roma gave us a lot of problems in the opening 25 minutes," said Juventus coach Fabio Capello.

"We started to relax towards half-time and then settled into our stride. The Giallorossi tend to start strongly, while we take our time and have patience.

"Trezeguet is always in the right place at the right time and can score with his right foot, left or his head. He's a real born goal scorer."

On Thuram's dismissal, Capello added: "The referee made the right decision, as Thuram touched his trailing foot and forced Vincenzo Montella to trip up. I can't argue with that. Unfortunately, there are times when players are caught up by the tension of the game and think they're helping, but now he'll be suspended for the next game."

------------------
Ibrahimovic: Juventus goal good for me
tribalfootball.com - November 20, 2005

Juventus hero Zlatan Ibrahimovic was delighted with his goal in yesterday's stunning win at Roma.
"It was a good goal, but it was more important to win this match and we put in a good performance," insisted the Swedish Player of the Year. "We struggled in the first half, but it's always going to be entertaining when you're playing Roma in the capital."

Ibrahimovic had fired up the atmosphere around this game when he stated that playing Roma was "the same as facing Ascoli." Thankfully, there were no violent incidents during this grudge match.

"I think the referee did a good job and the players tried to channel their tension positively. It was a great game."

------------------
Nedved: I could quit Juve early Saturday 19 November, 2005

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Pavel Nedved came out of international retirement this month, but admits he might quit Juventus before his contract expires in 2007.

“I have another two years left of my contract with Juve, but I’m not sure if I can respect it all the way to the end,” he was quoted as saying in Czech newspaper Idnes.

This is not the first time that the former Ballon d’Or winner has suggested an early retirement, although he had seemed to change his mind in recent months.

The 33-year-old midfielder came back to the international fold in order to help the Czech Republic qualify for the 2006 World Cup, eliminating Norway in the play-offs.

However, the strain of that experience and the on-going fitness problems are beginning to take their toll on the ex-Lazio star.

Nedved has repeatedly complained of a painful knee and back condition, so this could well be his final season at club level and the World Cup would be the perfect point to end his career.

Inter Milan coach Mancini slams Newcastle's Emre
tribalfootball.com - November 21, 2005

Inter Milan coach Roberto Mancini has hit back at Newcastle midfielder Emre after the Turk nominated him for the sack.

"I think that certain players would have done better to perform on the pitch when they were here rather than spend their time talking," slammed the Inter boss.

"If they had, then perhaps this club would have a few more trophies in the cabinet.

"It's too easy to start bandying judgements around once you've left a team, but you need to give 100 per cent when given the opportunity to wear such a glorious jersey as Inter's.

"All I can say about Emre is that he's a good player and a nice lad, but people must take more responsibility when they take to the field for this club. Everyone who comes through here says Moratti is a wonderful person, so they should put in the effort to make him happy. We all know the patron goes to great lengths to keep the players comfortable and he deserves the same in return."

Roma coach Spalletti blanks Cassano questions
tribalfootball.com - November 21, 2005

AS Roma coach Luciano Spalletti is refusing to take questions on Antonio Cassano's status.

Cassano was again left out of Saturday's 4-1 thrashing at home by Juventus, despite impressing for the club's youth team at the beginning of last week.

"On Cassano I won't answer any questions," said Spalletti. "I only want to think about the next game."

Abbiati happy to stand aside for Juventus No1 Buffon
tribalfootball.com - November 21, 2005

On-loan AC Milan goalkeeper Christian Abbiati says he is prepared to stand down once Gigi Buffon returns from injury at Juventus.

"I hope he is back to full fitness soon and I can't wait until he returns," said Abbiati. "I think Buffon is the best shot-stopper in the world and it's only right he takes his position between the sticks."

On his World Cup hopes, Abbiati added: "I know that Lippi has always called up Buffon, Peruzzi and De Sanctis when they were fully fit. Nonetheless, I obviously hope to be part of the committee going to Germany in 2006."

Juventus ace Vieira: Totti not THAT good
tribalfootball.com - November 21, 2005

Juventus midfielder Patrick Vieira has dismissed claims AS Roma captain Francesco Totti is the best player in Serie A.

Before Saturday's 4-1 win at Roma, Vieira declared: "I don't believe Totti can be considered the No1 player in Italy.

"However, Francesco has great international experience and class."

Agent reveals Real Madrid, Juventus stars battling for Sagnol
tribalfootball.com - November 21, 2005

The agent of Bayern Munich fullback Willy Sagnol has revealed a tug-of-war is developing between Juventus and Real Madrid for his services.

Sagnol is off contract in the summer and expected to leave the Bundesliga for a foreign competition.

The Frenchman's agent, Stephane Courbis revealed: "The only serious offer we have received is from Bayern. Nothing concrete has arrived from anyone else.

"But it's true that Lilian Thuram is urging Willy to join him at Juventus. Thuram has told him the best move for him would be Turin.

"But Zizou (Zinedine Zidane) also wants him at Real Madrid and like Thuram is regularly on the phone trying to convince him to move to Spain."

Inter Milan patron Moratti: Serie A not ignoring local talent
tribalfootball.com - November 21, 2005

Inter Milan patron Massimo Moratti insists there are no problems for Italian players in Serie A.

There has been debate in the last week that there are too many foreigners playing in Italy's top-flight, which is hurting the country's national team.

But Moratti says: "As far as football is concerned, the league remains approximately 70% Italian in terms of players and for me there does not seem a problem.

"We are in an industry in which the borders have fallen. I do not understand why people want to bring in restrictions.

"We do not buy aliens for the sake of it, but because they are good players and they have characteristic techniques that can serve us. For me, everyone is the same, from the Chinese and Swedish, to the Italians and French."

Inter Milan rule out move for Juventus chief Moggi
tribalfootball.com - November 21, 2005

Inter Milan patron Massimo Moratti has denied reports he is in talks with Juventus director general Luciano Moggi about moving to the San Siro next season.

"In regards to Moggi, there is no hatred between us nor a strained relationship with Juventus, but I can assure you that Moggi will never come to Inter," said Moratti.

Man Utd watch as Juventus open Capello contract talks
tribalfootball.com - November 22, 2005

Juventus have moved to open talks with coach Fabio Capello over a new contract.

Aware of interest from Manchester United, Juve chiefs are anxious to find an agreement with Capello which will see him stay with the club beyond his current deal.

Among his demands to Juve's board, Capello has communicated he wants technical chiefs Luciano Moggi, Antonio Giraudo and Roberto Bettega, all to stay beyond their current contracts, which expire at the end of this season.

He also wants a clause in the new contract which will guarantee him a director's role once he decides to retire from coaching.

Rui Costa: This a test of AC Milan strength
tribalfootball.com - November 22, 2005

Rui Costa insists AC Milan will bounce back after Sunday's defeat by Fiorentina.
Ahead of their Champions League clash with Besiktas, Rui Costa said: "The strength of a great club is seen during these moments.

"We must try to turn a page and think about our next game in Istanbul. That game is very important for our season."

AC Milan chief Galliani backs Ancelotti against Costacurta
tribalfootball.com - November 22, 2005

AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani is backing coach Carlo Ancelotti in his row with veteran defender Billy Costacurta.
Costacurta incurred the wrath of Ancelotti last week when declaring he believed the coach's time was up at Milan.

Ancelotti said yesterday: "What Billy said, he could have kept to himself - especially before such a big game (against Fiorentina)."
----------------------------------------
Roma coach: No problems with Mancini
tribalfootball.com - November 22, 2005

AS Roma coach Luciano Spalletti insists there was nothing sinister in the late omission of midfielder Mancini before Saturday's 4-1 thrashing by Juventus.
"It seems that Mancini has a calf strain," Spalletti explained yesterday. "He wanted to try to play but the injury prevented him from doing so.

"It could be something more serious, even a tear and I did not want to risk him aggravating the situation and lengthening his time out."

Toni: Beating AC Milan just beautiful
tribalfootball.com - November 22, 2005

Luca Toni was delighted to play his part in Fiorentina's shock win over AC Milan on Sunday night.

"It's been a great and beautiful day, we wanted to play a great game but we did not think we'd quite win 3-1," said the star striker.

"I must say that we have been also fortunate, everything has gone well for us. We will not talk about big plans, we limit ourselves to enjoy this moment. After this we will go to Roma, it will be another great game and we will be calm because we know we can compete with anyone."

Roma's Totti facing video probe after Nedved clash
tribalfootball.com - November 22, 2005

AS Roma captain Francesco Totti is facing a video charge after his apparent kick at Juventus midfielder Pavel Nedved on Saturday.
The Giallorossi captain was caught on camera kicking Nedved in the back of the head as the two lay on the ground following a challenge from the Czech Republic international.

If the Disciplinary Commission views the video evidence and considers it worthy of punishment, then Totti risks a ban of between two and four games.

Juventus deny Sagnol deal Monday 21 November, 2005 -----------Channel4

Juventus have dismissed reports that they have already signed Bayern Munich’s Willy Sagnol – but have hinted a deal is imminent.

The French international is said to have agreed to a four-year stint with the Italian giants once his contract at Bayern expires in the summer.

However, Luciano Moggi insists nothing has been agreed even if he seemed to confirm that Sagnol would be heading to Turin.

"Sagnol is an excellent defender, one who interests us," the director general is quoted as saying. "However, we still haven’t signed him yet."

The right-back, also linked with Valencia and Manchester United, is expected to replace Jonathan Zebina in the side next term.

The latter, plagued by injury so far this season, is expected to be sold after he requested a new improved contract.

Meanwhile, Juventus have also ruled out a move for Antonio Cassano in the January transfer market.

Associated with the Turin giants seeing as his contract expires in the summer, the Bianconeri insist they have no need for any more attackers.

"Cassano is a Roma player who is going through a very delicate situation, therefore I don’t really want to touch this theme," chief operating officer Antonio Giraudo said on Monday.

"All I will say it that Cassano is a great player, but we have a complete attack. We already have great champions and our attacking options are very competitive."
------------------------------------
Del Piero to face Belgians Monday 21 November, 2005 ---------------Channel4

Alessandro Del Piero is set to start in Juve’s Champions League match against Club Brugge on Tuesday night.

No longer guaranteed a first-team place under Fabio Capello, Del Piero has nevertheless been given the go ahead to face the Belgians - in their Group A match at the Stadio Delle Alpi - due to the suspension of Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

"Del Piero will play," confirmed Juventus Coach Fabio Capello. "Del Piero, David Trezeguet, Pavel Nedved and Mauro Camoranesi will represent our attacking players."

It is rare that Capello is so open about his side before a big match, but perhaps the convincing win over Roma has restored his confidence.

Del Piero, meanwhile, is ready to take on a Brugge side that has greatly improved in the Belgian League since the two sides met on the opening day of the tournament group stages.

"It will be a hard game," he said. "We are up against a side that hopefully won’t play as well as they have got used to playing recently because, as always, we want to win. It is important for us to make the most of home advantage."

Respectful as ever, the captain is not one to make brash statements. In fact, according to the 31-year-old, this is one of the secrets to Juve’s success.

"We fear no-one but we always have the greatest respect," added the Italy icon.

"When we keep both of these two factors in mind we have much more chance of winning than if we only think about one of them."

Roma should take note. All of the hot air that emanated from Giallorossi headquarters ahead of their match with the Turin giants came to nothing and they were left suitably humiliated.

Del Piero insists that, just as his teammates avoided becoming embroiled in a war of words with Roma’s outspoken players, so it would be equally unbecoming of his side to boast about their decisive win.

"Winning in Rome was great regardless of what was said in the build-up," he revealed.

"If anything, what was said beforehand ensured that we kept playing at 100 per cent and working really hard right up until the final whistle."

Del Piero for Ibrahimovic is the only team change from the side that won 4-1 on Saturday, as Capello goes all out for the win that would guarantee the Bianconeri a place in the last 16.

A draw would even be enough for Juventus to progress to the next stage, while for Brugge, who are already guaranteed a UEFA Cup place, a share of the spoils would leave them hoping that SK Wien upset the odds to beat Bayern Munich.

Roma, Juventus quick to move for Keane
tribalfootball.com - November 22, 2005

AS Roma and Juventus are going head-to-head for released Manchester United captain Roy Keane.

Juve director general Luciano Moggi has drawn up a £7 million, two-year contract offer for the Irishman, who can move to a foreign competition from January 1.

Roma have also made contact, though any move for Keane will depend on the Court of Arbitration in Sport ruling in favour of their appeal against a FIFA sanctioned transfer ban.

The United legend's representatives have already confirmed a Serie A offer has arrived, but have not identified the club involved.

Giraudo: Juventus keeping eye on Fiorentina
tribalfootball.com - November 23, 2005

Juventus admit they're looking over their shoulders at surprise packet Fiorentina.
Juve managing director Antonio Giraudo said: "In the championship we must pay attention to Fiorentina, which has an optimal organization, guided by the Della Valles and they have signed an optimal coach, with good players and now they playing to their potential.

"La Viola have the characteristics in order to become part of the fight at the top."

Capello's Juventus future depends on Moggi stay
tribalfootball.com - November 23, 2005

Fabio Capello's future at Juventus may depend on director general Luciano Moggi sticking around.

Moggi is off contract at Juve at the end of this season and he has yet to open talks over a new deal with the board.

Capello declared last week that he would only stay "if the Triad stays", which are Juve directors Moggi, Antonio Giraudo and Roberto Bettega.

Juve are anxious to tie Capello to a new contract, but he admitted yesterday that he doesn't see the Turin giants as his last coaching job.

"I am always looking for fresh challenges and try to get inspired constantly. Experiencing a foreign country is enriching and so appeals to me very much," said the master coach.

Emerson: I'd love Cassano here at Juventus
tribalfootball.com - November 23, 2005

Emerson admits he'd love to play alongside AS Roma striker Antonio Cassano at Juventus.
"Antonio is my friend and I want him to come here (to Juventus), said the Brazilian. "He is one of the strongest and best attacking players in the world. Everyone knows that.

"It would appeal to me to play with him here."

Roma closer to deal for Inter Milan striker Cruz
tribalfootball.com - November 23, 2005

Inter Milan striker Julio Cruz is set to move to AS Roma on a Bosman at the end of this season.
Cruz, whose contract expires in the summer, has been waiting for the Nerazzurri to offer him a new deal after an exceptional season so far.

But with no such arrangement forthcoming, the Argentina striker will be available for nothing in six months.

The Giallorossi are prepared to offer the South American ?1.7m a season for four years and the in-form 31-year-old - who has just earned a recall to the Argentina squad but remains something of a San Siro super sub - is keen on the move.

Inter Milan's Figo: I must do better
tribalfootball.com - November 23, 2005

Inter Milan winger Luis Figo admits he hasn't fired on all cylinders since his summer arrival from Real Madrid.

Figo scored his first goal against Parma on Sunday and said: "It is obvious that I was looking to score for the club, even if that is not the most important thing for me," said the Portuguese winger.

"Yesterday's goal was only significant for the side when you consider the situation the team was in at the time.

"I did find the back of the net, but I wasn't totally happy with what I did on the pitch. I can certainly give a little more."

The former Barcelona and Sporting Lisbon wizard believes his side need to focus on themselves.

"We must look to be more consistent as that is what wins you titles," he warned his fellow teammates.

"If we can make less errors then that would be a vital step forward for us. After all, the games we've been defeated in have been as a result of our problems rather than our opponents' merits."

Juventus pounce as Zanetti rejects final Inter Milan offer
tribalfootball.com - November 23, 2005

Cristiano Zanetti has rejected a final offer from Inter Milan to sign a new contract.
The Italy international's current deal expires in June and Inter patron Massimo Moratti tabled a final offer to the midfielder's representatives this week.

But Zanetti is determined to leave the San Siro amid reports he has already verbally agreed a pre-contract with Juventus ahead of signing terms on January 1.

Inter Milan patron Moratti: I'd love to sign Toni
tribalfootball.com - November 23, 2005

Inter Milan patron Massimo Moratti admits he'd love to sign Fiorentina striker Luca Toni.
"Toni? Who wouldn't want him playing for their team?" said Moratti. "But he plays for Fiorentina and let's leave it at that.

"Adriano didn't score on Sunday (against Parma), but he played a lot better and is getting back to the level we know he can reach."
