Juventus chief Moggi: Del Piero deserves World Cup place
tribalfootball.com - November 24, 2005
Juventus director general Luciano Moggi says Alessandro del Piero must be included in Italy's World Cup squad for Germany.
Moggi said: "Alessandro Del Piero is a champion, I often say it and I must repeat it. Scoring goals is his trade and he does it often.
"Consequently, he must be under consideration by Marcello Lippi for the World Cup next summer in Germany."

tribalfootball.com - November 24, 2005

Inter Milan are favourites to snap up the wing-back.

tribalfootball.com - November 24, 2005
Juventus director general Luciano Moggi insists they're not interested in released Manchester United captain Roy Keane.
Juve were linked with a two-year, £7 million contract offer for Keane this week, but Moggi said: "Keane does not interest us.
"We're only interested in signing players below 30 years of age."

Figc investigate Cassano's Roma situation
tribalfootball.com - November 24, 2005
AS Roma chiefs have been interviewed by Italian federation officials over Antonio Cassano's situation.
Figc investigators quizzed Roma director general Daniele Prade and coach Luciano Spalletti about why Cassano had not been considered for first team duty in recent weeks. This came after Roma executive director Rosella Sensi publicly declared Cassano wouldn't be considered while he refused to sign a new contract.
Both Spalletti and Prade told the Figc team that Cassano was only left out because of injuries he was suffering from.

Marseille latest to ask after AC Milan's Inzaghi
tribalfootball.com - November 24, 2005
Marseille have joined Bordeaux in their interest for AC Milan striker Pippo Inzaghi.
Bordeaux approached Milan last month about taking Inzaghi on-loan in January for the second-half of the season, but received short shrift from the Italian giants.
It's emerged Marseille have also made enquiries about Inzaghi in recent days, but have received the same response from Milan chiefs.

Fiorentina eyeing Roma wing ace De Rossi
tribalfootball.com - November 24, 2005
Fiorentina are being linked with exciting AS Roma winger Daniele De Rossi.
President Andrea Della Valle said recently: "If we are still among the top sides in the League at Christmas, we will weigh up our options in the transfer market."
Della Valle is prepared to part with between ?4.7m and ?5.5m to recruit emerging Roma star De Rossi.
The Giallorossi are reluctant to let the home-grown Italy international go, but they could be attracted by much-needed funds in the light of the seemingly doomed Antonio Cassano dispute.
The 22-year-old's arrival also depends on how much longer the 'Mexes saga' will continue to block Roma from taking part in any player-plus-cash transfer activity.

Ex-Juventus star Tacconi slams Italy heroes
tribalfootball.com - November 24, 2005
Former Juventus and Italy star Stefano Tacconi has slammed Italy's current day heroes.
"Gilardino and Toni are two mediocre players who are simply playing well right now," said the retired shot-stopper. "They are nonetheless poor compared to their predecessors."
Tacconi, who retired in 1995 after nine years at Juventus and a final three campaigns with Genoa, was even more scathing when it came to those who replaced him in the Italy goal.
"There is a major crisis of Italian goalkeepers at the moment," he told Radio CRC. "Gianluigi Buffon with a broken shoulder is still better than anyone else in the country."
Buffon has been sidelined with a shoulder injury since August and has been replaced in the Azzurri area by Angelo Peruzzi, Morgan De Sanctis, Flavio Roma, Christian Abbiati and Marco Amelia. Not content with insulting his fellow countrymen, Tacconi also launched a broadside at Dida and Julio Cesar.
"If Serie A clubs have started drafting in Brazilian goalkeepers, then we really are in serious trouble. It must mean we've done everything wrong from 1990 onwards."

Sanz insists courts won't stop Parma takeover
tribalfootball.com - November 24, 2005
Lorenzo Sanz insists his takeover of Parma remains on course.
Sanz stands accused of selling a fake Guido Rino painting to a buyer from Rome and is being taken to court by the irate art lover.
The former Real Madrid President is said to have exchanged the painting for two Fernand Leger canvasses and, after a series of lawyers' letters, the case ended up in a Madrid court last month.
Sanz, though, maintains that the case has nothing to do with his intentions to complete his purchase of Parma and that he is confident that his name will be cleared anyway.
"I will not stop," said Sanz. "I want the Gialloblu."
The details have emerged at a critical stage in Sanz's take-over bid. He has already paid a first installment of ?5m for the Emilia club and is currently in the process of negotiating the remaining ?13.5m to complete the deal.
"The court case has got nothing to do with football and our negotiations to take control of Parma," added his son Lorenzo Sanz Junior.
"I wouldn't pay too much attention to that man (the Roman buyer). He's already had too much publicity as it is."

Capello Denies Real Rumours - Goal
11/23/2005 9:59:00 AM
The Juve coach has no intention of returning to Madrid.
Fabio Capello sarcastically commented the speculation linking him to a return in Spain with Real Madrid.
“I didn’t know I had already signed. It’s very difficult to do well in a place where you already were, and especially finding the same players you had left."
Despite winning the game, the match against Brugge proved that Zlatan Ibrahimovic is fundamental in Juve’s attack formation.
“Physically he’s important, he has an exceptional technique, but I’m happy with what those who were on the pitch did. Let’s not forget that three days ago we played an intensive match in Rome, so I’m happy with what we did.”
